§ 13.12.075. Temporary disconnection during extended periods of nonuse.

  • Any user of the combined waterworks and sewage system of the village who expects to be absent from the premises occupied by that user for an extended period of time or expects the premises to be vacant for an extended period of time may at the option of the user have the water service to the premises temporarily disconnected, but only under the following conditions:

    A.

    The user shall submit a written request for temporary disconnection to the superintendent of the combined system.

    B.

    Upon receipt of the request for temporary disconnection, the superintendent shall within a reasonable period of time disconnect water service to the premises.

    C.

    No one shall occupy or utilize the premises during the period when water service has been disconnected.

    D.

    During the period of disconnection when no use of the combined system is made from the disconnected premises, no water or wastewater user charges shall be billed with respect to the disconnected premises.

    E.

    Reconnection of the premises to the water system shall be completed only after the payment of a reconnection fee of fifty dollars.
