§ 13.52.050. Foundation and floor drains and roof downspouts.

  • Drains placed under the cellar or basement floor or used to encircle the outer walls of a building for the removal of ground, surface or stormwater must discharge to a sump pump of proper size and capacity. The discharge from any sump pump or roof downspout shall terminate not less than ten feet from the property line, and any sump pump or roof downspout shall not be constructed or connected so as to permit or cause the discharge of such water into or upon any of the streets, alleys, sidewalks, public grounds or courses of the village. The sump pump or roof downspouts may be discharged to a field tile if one is available to the property in a manner approved by the superintendent.
