Chapter 15.48. BARRIERS FOR SWIMMING POOLS |
§ 15.48.020. Definitions.
For the purpose of this chapter, the terms used shall be defined as follows:
A.
"Above-ground/on-ground pool." See "Swimming pool."
B.
"Barrier." A fence, wall, building wall or combination thereof which completely surrounds the swimming pool and obstructs access to the swimming pool.
C.
"In-ground pool." See "Swimming pool."
D.
"Residential." That which is situated on the premises of a detached one- or two-family dwelling or a one-family townhouse not more than three stories in height.
E.
"Swimming pool." Any structure intended for swimming or recreational bathing that contains water over twenty-four inches (610 mm) deep, has a capacity of at least five hundred gallons and is equipped with a filtration system or a system which otherwise recirculates water within the structure. This includes in-ground, above-ground and on-ground swimming pools.
F.
"Swimming pool, indoor." A swimming pool which is totally contained within a structure and surrounded on all four sides by walls of said structure.
G.
"Swimming pool, outdoor." Any swimming pool which is not an indoor pool.
