§ 2.04.030. Roll call—Quorum—Order of business.

  • At the hour selected for a meeting the village clerk (or someone appointed to fill his place) shall proceed to call the roll of the members, mark the absentees, and announce whether a quorum (i.e., a majority of all the members elected) is present. Upon the appearance of a quorum, the board shall be called to order, the president taking his chair, if present, and the board appointing a temporary chairman if he is absent. If a quorum does not appear, the board shall not thereby stand adjourned until so voted by the members present. When a quorum is present, the board shall proceed to do the business before it, which shall be conducted in the following order:

    A.

    Reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting, and their amendment and correction;

    B.

    Presentation of petitions, claims and reports of officers;

    C.

    Reports of standing committees;

    D.

    Reports of special committees;

    E.

    Communications to the board;

    F.

    Unfinished business;

    G.

    New business.
