§ 2.04.180. General provisions.

  • A.

    The president and the board of trustees may in their discretion employ legal counsel for the current year, or from time to time during such year, as they deem necessary, and take a bond for such attorney, if in the judgment of the president and board they deem the same proper and necessary.

    B.

    No person not a member of the board shall address the board without the unanimous consent of the members present.

    C.

    The rules of parliamentary practice comprised in "Roberts' Rules of Order" shall govern the board in all cases to which they are applicable, and in which they are not inconsistent with the standing rules of the board.

    D.

    The rules contained in this chapter may be temporarily suspended by a vote of two-thirds of the members present, but shall not be repealed, altered or amended, unless notice thereof shall have been given in writing, and alteration or amendment submitted at least one meeting prior thereto, and two-thirds of all the members elected shall concur therein.
