§ 2.28.020. Duties and authority of chief of police.

  • The chief of police shall:

    A.

    Be the commanding officer of the police department and shall have control over the assignment of all members thereof and over the execution of all police work in the village.

    B.

    Have the authority to issue written and oral orders to the members of the police department provided, however, that to the extent of any conflict between any such orders and the provisions of either the Metamora Village Code or any personnel manual or ordinance adopted by the village board, any such conflicting order of the chief of police shall be void.
