§ 10.44.015. Limitations on remote parking.

  • A.

    For purposes of this section a vehicle is remotely parked when placed unattended on a public street in the Village at any location further than one hundred fifty feet from the nearest property line of real estate occupied as a residence or business by the registered owner of such vehicle.

    B.

    It is unlawful to remotely park any vehicle in any area of the Village located in the R-1, R1A or R-2 zoning districts for a total period of time in excess of eight hours during any calendar day.

    C.

    Any other provision of this chapter to the contrary notwithstanding, this section shall be enforceable whether or not signs advising of the limitations on remote parking are posted.

    D.

    Any person accused of violating this section may settle and compromise the claim against him or her by paying to the village clerk a fine in the amount of twenty-five dollars within five business days after being cited of the alleged violation. In the event the accused fails to so pay the fine, the alleged offender shall be served with a complaint charging a violation of this section together with a notice to appear and answer charges in Woodford County Circuit Court. Upon conviction, the offender shall be subject to the general penalty provisions established by this code.
