§ 2.12.080. Delivery of books and records to successor.
Whenever his term of office expires, whether caused by resignation, removal from the village, removal from office by the board, the appointment of a successor, or other cause, it shall be the duty of the treasurer at once to deliver to his successor in office, or such other person as may be specially designated by resolution of the board of trustees, all moneys, property, books and effects of every description in his possession, belonging to the village or appertaining to his office; and he shall at once account for and pay over to such successor or other person so designated, all moneys that he shall be accountable for or owe to the village in his capacity of treasurer.
